On the morning of June 27, the 2025 NBA Draft came to an end, and Chinese defender Lin Wei was unfortunately defeated. According to media reports, Lin Wei was previously invited to participate in the Mavericks' trial and received relatively positive comments. According to reports, the defender, born in 2003, will strive to participate in the NBA Summer League and continue his dream pursuit journey.

Last season of the CBA regular season, Lin Wei represented Nanjing Tou Pai Sujiu in 34 games, and averaged 21.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game, and was crowned the local scoring champion of the CBA regular season. In an interview with the media, Lin Wei explained his original intention of participating in the NBA draft: "Suddenly I found myself at a turning point in my life, wanting to challenge myself, and wanting to see where the gap between myself and the world's top players is. No matter what the result is, this experience will make me grow."

Lin Wei signed with LiftSports, an agency founded by former NBA player Mike Miller. As an agency with good resources, LiftSports owns NBA stars such as Morant and Bancello. According to reports, if you cannot "successfully find a job" in the United States, Lin Wei may go to other national leagues to seek opportunities.

After Lin Wei was defeated, Nanjing Tou Pai Sujiu immediately gave encouragement: "Young man, go and fight bravely. In addition to the hardships, you also have our full support! I have regrets that I was unable to hear our most familiar name on the talent show stage across the ocean, but please believe that Lin Wei's summer has just begun."

In the first round selection of the 2025 NBA Draft held on the morning of June 26, the Portland Trail Blazers used the 16th pick in the first round to select the potential center Yang Hansen from China. The Chinese Basketball Association sent a congratulatory letter to Yang Hansen. At the end of the congratulatory letter, the Chinese Basketball Association wrote: "The Chinese Basketball Association has always adhered to an open attitude, encouraged and supported more potential players to go to high-level overseas leagues to train and improve, and experienced storms, and made steady progress, and contributed greater strength to the development of Chinese basketball."
