Going to reverse? Alliance members are skeptical of Antetokounmpo s possibility of leaving the Bucks

According to US sports media F/W Gautam Warier. The Milwaukee Bucks and their superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo seem likely to break up this offseason, but it seems that this may not end up happening. Jack Fisher reported on the NBA Insider Notebook show that people across the league are now skeptical of Antetokounmpo leaving the Bucks. “Two weeks ago, two and a half weeks ago, there was no shortage of optimism, hope and excitement for other teams, and they could make an offer to get Giannis Antetokounmpo into their team, into their city,” Fischer said. Recently, I would like to say that this confidence has been replaced by doubt.

"For a person, through conversations with agents, executives, no matter who, there is not much confidence at this moment," Fischer said. "It's only June 5th now, anything is possible and I've been told that if there is a decision, a formal decision, closing or opening the door to Giannis' deal negotiations this summer, it could happen near the end of June when the offseason really starts. But what I want to say is that for now, when talking to people around the league, the assessment and expectation is that when they see it, they'll believe it," Fischer continued. "The key to the Bucks will want to play somewhere else."

It will be an interesting twist. As Fisher points out, United's NBA agents believe Antetokounmpo will force the Bucks to trade. The 9-time All-Star will not be playing with the team in the 2025-26 season, which seems almost a foregone conclusion.

Of course, all this chatter started after the Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round. This is their third straight first-round outing, with NBA insider Shams Charania reporting that Antetokounmpo is open to exploring whether it is in his best interest to stay. Given the state the Bucks are in, it seems like a simple decision. They can’t really make any major improvements to the roster and will not have Damian Lillard next season as he tore his Achilles tendon in the playoffs.

No matter how good Antetokounmpo plays, the Bucks are almost certain that they won’t be a title contender next season, and Milwaukee’s future is not very bright either. If the 30-year-old decides to stay and try to turn things around, you will applaud him, but you want to see him in a major playoffs.

Antetokounmpo averaged 33.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks against the Pacers. He shot 60.6% from the field but still lost in five games. Even if Lillard is not injured, they may still be eliminated by the Pacers. According to Fisher, we may know Antetokounmpo’s plan by the end of this month. Teams across the league want him to decide to bring his talents elsewhere. If he asks for it, many of them will line up for his service.
