Kevin Garnett: Vinban Yama looks like a cross between O Neal and Durant

According to an article written by US sports media F/W analyst Siddhant Gupta, after a tough summer and intensive training under the guidance of NBA legends, Spurs star Bunyama is expected to make a huge leap this season. With Garnett serving as one of his advisors this offseason, the former NBA champion has high hopes for the 21-year-old. But during a recent episode of "KG Verified" with Pierce, Garnett explained why he's so invested in Wembunama's development. When asked what he was doing with the Spurs big man this summer, Garnett said: "He's on a journey of knowledge. He doesn't want to be in that French guy's box, et cetera. He's trying to break the whole narrative. He's changing the way we look at the five... He's bringing a different level of guard/small forward to the big man position."

Vinbanyama stands 7-foot-5, and based on recent updates, he could be taller, and he's certainly a physical specimen. However, he possesses an interesting combination of skill and strength that, according to Garnett, makes him a unique combination of O'Neal and Durant. Pierce didn't buy the comparison, but Garnett's statement was far from over. When asked if Bunyama will be in the MVP During the discussion, Garnett responded, "Of course! He leads the league with eight blocks! He wants to be something outside the box, and he's about to be something different that we've never seen. We've never seen anybody look head-on on the post, we haven't seen somebody take it away, we haven't seen some of that." Year old players are appreciated for what they have to offer. Garnett used his mentality and strength to act as a guide for the Spurs big man, imparting valuable wisdom to him. Vunbanyama is undoubtedly one of the most talented players the league has ever seen. After finishing second in DPOY voting in his rookie season alone while leading the league in blocks, Vunbanyama has established himself as a contender for the DPOY award.

For all intents and purposes, Bunyama is expected to be one of the best players in the league this season. The 21-year-old Spurs center has tremendous two-way potential. Given this, and his forward-like style of play, he is effectively undefendable in most situations. His training results are telling in the preseason. He averaged 8.8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks in 17 minutes per game, shooting 65.9% overall and 50.0% from the field.

Given that he can be a big contributor for San Antonio this season, especially with the team they have, Victor Vunbanyama has a pretty good chance of competing for the MVP award. The only real challenge for the big man is staying healthy and playing in enough games to qualify. This aspect is indeed the test of time, and this journey will begin in the Spurs' opener against the Mavericks, and at the same time verify whether Garnett's evaluation is objective.
