During this offseason, Abussele joined the Knicks for 2 years and $12 million. He is currently following the French men's basketball team to prepare for the European Cup that will start on August 27. Recently, Yabussele was interviewed by European basketball media BasketNews and talked about her experience of returning to the NBA: "I know it's a long time, it took me five years to come back!"

Abussele made its first NBA in 2017 and was cut by the Celtics in the summer of 2019. In the following five years, he joined the CBA, France and Spain. Many people think he can't go back to the NBA again. In an interview, Yabussele said: "As a young man, entering the NBA is my dream. So I want to go back!"

"For five years, I have been training hard to improve my shooting, passing and ball quotient, and all the skills related to basketball. I know if I do all these things well, I can come back. It is this belief that motivates me every day and I know I still have a chance!" In the summer of 2024, Yabussele joined the 76ers for $2.1 million in a year.

At that time, Yabussele had one year left in the contract with Real Madrid, and the buyout fee was as high as US$2.5 million. According to NBA regulations, 76ers can only pay a maximum of $850,000 in buyout fees, and the remaining $1.65 million needs to be solved by Yabussele himself. Yabuselle's salary for 76ers was $2.1 million, and only about half of it was earned, about $1.14 million.

In other words, in order to play in the NBA last season, Abussele had to pay at least $500,000. Yabuselle is confident that he can stay in the NBA, so he decided to pay out of his own pocket. Everyone has different vision and choices. Some people cannot seize opportunities even if they are in the NBA. Some people have been wandering outside for five years and have never given up on their dream of returning to the NBA!

Abussele was the No. 16 pick in the first round of 2016, and officially signed with the Celtics in the summer of 2017. In the first two seasons of his career, he averaged 6.5 minutes per game with the Celtics, scoring only 2.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists. His ability to play back to the NBA is due to his outstanding performance at the Paris Olympics: averaging 14 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, and shooting percentage of 51.9%. In the 2024-25 season, Abuselle played 70 regular season games for the 76ers, including 43 starts. He averaged 27.1 minutes per game, scored 11 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 turnovers, and his three shooting percentages were: 50.1%, 38%, and 72.5%. This summer, 76ers only offered Yabussele a one-year basic salary contract of 2.6 million yuan.

When the Knicks offered $12 million for two years, Yabussele agreed without hesitation. Yabussele said: "Try hard and play hard. As a dog, I will fight every game. This is my DNA and the style of the Knicks. Thank you for giving me the chance. I reserve a special position for you in my heart."

Abussele continued: "The Knicks are great. Everyone doesn't care about personal data. Every player has the same goal and pace." Last year's rookie McCain said: "Abussele is one of the best people I have ever met. I can ask him for any help. His departure made me sad, and we have been in touch."

Players like Yabussele who can still be killed after leaving the NBA for many years, who can be thought of?
