May 24th News Today's American Journalist Brett Siegel wrote an article about the situation of Horford and Connett.

Siegel wrote: "Source say Horford and Connet will be unrestricted free agents this summer, and both players are keen to return to Boston."

"Although Horford turned 39 on June 3, he still intends to play for the Celtics in the 2025-26 season, which will be his 19th season. It seems that Horford stays with the Celtics, and ESPN's Windhorst has previously reported that the veteran is eager to return," Siegel wrote.

"As for Cornett, his situation is slightly different. The 29-year-old big man is no longer a basic salary player, and if he and Horford choose to stay, the total salary in Boston will only increase. The Celtics' total salary in 2025-26 will be close to $220 million, while taxes are expected to exceed $260 million, and total salary expenditure next season will approach a historic $500 million, so discussions within the league about their spending cuts are getting stronger," Siegel added.

Connett's salary this season is $2.8 million, Horford's salary this season is $9.5 million, and their contracts expire this summer.
