May 26th News Recently, Anthony choked and cried when talking about the difficult time at Manchester United in an interview with Brazil TNT.

What are your expectations for Betis' first European final in the history of the history? Of course, it also includes your own expectations.

Anthony: I should say thank you for it, and I am honored to be able to talk to you. I am looking forward to the finals, especially Betis has reached the European finals for the first time in history. I'm ready, a little nervous, but hopefully I can play a great final.

When you first joined Betis, did you think that you would become a key figure in the team's first European championship in team history?

Anthony: I also talked to my father about this this morning, and I knew I could play a good game here because I was ready for it. When we first came, Betis was in poor form in La Liga, but we ended up ranked sixth, entered the UEFA Cup, almost entered the Champions League, and now we reached the UEFA League final, which is too important for the club. I feel very happy to be able to help the team make history. To be honest, it was a bit surprising. When I first came, the team was in a normal state, but now I have to play in the finals and can advance to the Europa League.

Many people are asking after seeing your performance at Betis: Why didn’t you succeed at Manchester United? What do you think is the main reason?

Anthony: Listen, I have always said that I have had good time at Manchester United, but I have also experienced very difficult stages. Not only on-field performance, but off-field factors also seriously affected my psychological state. Those days were really tormenting, but I was grateful for these setbacks, which made me more mature and stronger. There are some must-see paths to growth, and it is these experiences that allow me to enjoy football now. Of course, I could have done more for Manchester United, but I am also grateful for the care I received there and still keep in touch with many people today.

I have to mention that during that difficult period, although the investigation (domestic violence) by the St. Paul police against you was closed and no prosecution, it was still a hot topic in Manchester at that time. How did you overcome these and get back to your best shape?

Anthony: To be honest, it was the darkest day of my life. It was for my whole family. It was too painful to be falsely accused of false accusations. Now the evidence has proved my innocence. I did think about giving up football, those accusations and long silences have left me losing my desire to play football. My family accompanied me through all this, the keyword is "resilience". I learned to persevere from a boy who grew up in a slum. My mother always said that it is this spirit of going head-on when encountering challenges that have brought me to this day. Now the whole family smiled again, and I felt like I had overcome another hurdle.

How did join Betis change your career?

Anthony: "The change is huge. I need to find myself again. When I was at Manchester United, my personal life was a mess. I wanted to do something but it was not going well because I was unhappy and even lost my love for football. I often say to my brothers, "I can't hold on anymore." He always encouraged me to persevere. I still choked up when I think back. I hid in the room for several days without eating or drinking, and I didn't even have the strength to play with my children... But thank God and my family for their support, I survived."

How important is Coach Pellegrini to you? He seems to give you freedom and integrate into the team.

Anthony: He is the key person. He called me as early as Manchester United and gave me great confidence. After coming to Betis, he told me: "It is no accident that you join the national team and play in the World Cup. I know your strength, you have setbacks, and you also need to take responsibility, but let it be relaxed here." He never asked me to do 20 fancy moves, just 5-6 threatening attacks, and I will always be grateful to him.

Will you have a chance next time the Brazilian national team is called?

Anthony: Of course I will look forward to it. Being on the previous initial selection list has been a huge encouragement. Playing football for the national team has always been my dream, and the feeling of wearing a yellow shirt is unparalleled.

has communicated with Coach Ancelotti? How do you think of him coaching the Brazilian team?

Anthony: I haven't talked about it yet, but I'm glad he is coached by him. He is one of the world's top coaches and I believe he can lead the Brazil team back on track.

Casemiro may return to the national team. As a former teammate, how important do you think he is to the Brazilian team at this moment?

Anthony: No doubt. He is in good shape at Manchester United and is a model in the locker room. He is 100% dedicated to training regardless of whether he plays or not. I am sincerely happy for him to see him return to the top.

Finally, Betis fans hope you can stay in the team. You are still a Manchester United player, what are your plans for the future? Want to stay in La Liga?

Anthony: My task is to focus on the present and play well. future? have no idea. After the transfer window opens, the agent will handle it. Now I just want to stay in shape.
