Arteta praises Arsenal s new No. 9
3:11am, 11 August 2025【Football】
Arsenal's No. 9 jersey has always been part of Jesus. The Brazilian striker was excited by gun fans when he joined in 2022. However, due to Jesus' injury (even now recovering from a knee injury), the Gunners have been missing a sharp forward with a steady output for several seasons.

But now, it's all out, as North London welcomes a new "no-zone sniper". Zhekelais arrives!

The Swedish striker will only make that iconic celebratory gesture after he has severely damaged the opponent's defense. In the final match against Athletic Bilbao in the Emirates Cup, Arsenal fans at Emirates Stadium witnessed him performing this action with their first eyes in red and white jerseys.
Arsenal won 3-0, and head coach Arteta praised the new No. 9 wearing the iconic No. 14 jersey. "His goal, his threat. He can nail two centre-backs. Once you give him a one-on-one chance, he will destroy you!" Arteta said, with a bright smile on his face.

How could Arteta not boast about his forward? After all, in the past two seasons of playing for Portugal Sports, Tzekelish scored 97 goals in 102 appearances, winning the Portuguese Super League top scorer for two consecutive years and helping the team win the league championship again.
He also won the Portuguese Cup in 2024, won the Portuguese Super League Best Scorer Award for two consecutive years, and was elected the Portuguese Professional Football League Player of the Year in 2024. He also had highlights in the Champions League, such as a hat-trick against Manchester City.

After Dzekelish scored his first goal at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal fans expressed the same view in unison.
