Previously reported that the Metropolitan Stadium is still ahead of the Baku Stadium in the competition. Atletico Madrid hosted the 2019 Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, while the Baku Olympic Stadium held the UEFA Cup final of the same year.

However, the final decision still needs to be waited, and for operational reasons, UEFA has postponed the resolution to the next Executive Committee meeting in September.
