According to the BBC, Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Kawasaki forward to sign Japanese central defender Yukio Takai for £5 million. The young player is expected to officially join the first team roster led by head coach Thomas Frank next season.

Yuki Takai is one of the key goals that Tottenham technical director John Lange is concerned about. The club hopes he can grow rapidly in Tottenham like other young talents such as Lucas Bergwal, Pap Saar and Dustin Udorgi. Next season, he will form Tottenham's defense with Christian Romero, Van der Van Sovan and Dragusin.

Spurs management hopes to complete the transfer transaction as soon as possible. The team will play a friendly match with Luton City on July 26, and the joining of Takai Yukita will become an important addition to the defense line in the new season.

As of now, Takai Yukita has played four times for the Japanese national team and has represented Kawasaki forward in all J1 league games this season, contributing 2 goals. In addition, he has participated in 9 matches in the AFC Champions League this season.

Last year, Takai Yukio won the Japanese Super Cup with Kawasaki striker and won the J League Best Young Player Award in the same year.

Before introducing Takayama, Tottenham had completed the signing of Densor and Mattis Terr. It is reported that the club's moves in the transfer market this summer are far from over and are currently competing with Manchester United to try to sign Brian Mbeumo.
