Carragher: Liverpool needs a new striker next

Jamie Carragher believes that after completing the deal between Jeremy Frimpon, Florian Wilz and a new left back, Liverpool should turn to center.

Liverpool announced last week that Jeremy Flynnon was their first signing of the summer and hoped to use Dutchman's Bayer Leverkusen teammate Wilz as the new attacking midfielder. The Reds also have close ties with Bournemouth’s new left back Milos Kolkz, but Carragher hopes for a centre-back next.

"All the season, I've been saying that Liverpool still needs five or six players," Carragher said on The Overlap. "I think the left back will play immediately, Frimpon will play with Connor Bradley, and Wiltz will play when he comes to the club." But I still think we need a center. I think Liverpool will seek to close their deals as soon as possible.

"Liverpool needs a left back, Andy Robertson needs help here, and Costas Zimikas will be replaced. "I always feel that offensive midfielder and left back are two areas that I've been most interested in in the past 12 to 18 months. "I don't know if Wierz is on the court and plays Sobosley's role or plays from the left. But the next one is center, and I won't be surprised if Liverpool completes the job of these three (Frimpon, Wierz and left back) and the next one will be center.

" As the transfer window goes on, Liverpool will see who they can sell and what they can do, and they may bring in another midfielder or a centre-back as a backup, but they will only evaluate the situation. ”
