Chairman of the Italian Football Association: The newly built and renovation procedures of the stadium must be simplified, otherwise the right to host the European Cup may be lost.

September 9th News Italian Football Association Chairman Gravina said that if the procedures for building a new stadium cannot be simplified, Italy may lose the right to host the 2032 European Cup.

The 2032 European Cup is co-organized by Italy and Türkiye, and the two countries have five stadiums to hold the competition. But so far, most domestic stadiums in Italy do not meet the requirements for hosting European Cup games. Chairman Gravina first said: "Italy lag behind in terms of stadiums. In the past 15 years, we have only built or renovated 6 stadiums, while France has 12 in the same period and Turkey has 33 in the same period."

Gravina continued: "The 2032 European Cup is a good opportunity for Italy to build and renovate the stadium. We need modern stadiums and government support. Private investors are willing to invest in this area, but relevant procedures must be simplified. If there is no specialist who can speed up the stadium approval process, we may miss this opportunity."

Gravina also said: "I am proud to maintain the team in Italian football during the pandemic and avoided the system's collapse. I am also proud of the Italian Football Association's rules reform in 2024, which strengthens the autonomy of all components of the football system despite internal and external pressures."

Finally, Gravena said: "I will not trust those who disappoint and betray me again. I regret not being able to achieve the league reform, although it does not entirely depend on my will, and I think it is very important for the future of Italian football. But we still have time and I do not rule out taking action on this soon."
