May 15th Chelsea defender Colville talked about his own growth path when talking to the club's official website.

Colville said: "Recalling my early memories of football, mostly playing football with my cousins and friends at the local neighborhood stadium, I think most football players are the same now. Playing there with older boys helps build your mindset, which is an invaluable experience. Playing football was the thing I was most devoted to when I was a kid, and I loved playing every minute of football."

After passing the club's trial, Colville joined the Blues U9 echelon. But less than a year after moving to London, Colville moved back to Southampton with his family. He said: "This is because my family missed my relatives and friends in my hometown very much. I don't mind the hardships of training and travel, because I just want to play for Chelsea." In a FA Cup match in 2014, Colville stepped onto Wembley Stadium as a caddie. He recalled: "The atmosphere in the player passage is so igniting, and the players are there. I was nervous, but it was incredible to step on Wembley at such a young age. I still remember thinking that one day I must play football at Wembley, and now I have played there a few times, and my dreams come true. "

In October 2023, Colville played for England for the first time. He said: "When I received a call from England, I immediately called my dad, He was also excited. He said that both of our dreams came true. Actually, I didn’t really think about making my debut on behalf of England at that time, so it came so quickly, which was amazing and definitely one of my most proud moments. I still remember the little boy who wanted to play football at Wembley, and that feeling was very far away. "

In the summer of 2024, Colville moved back to his home in Southampton again, and he said: "When I was with my family, all the problems disappeared, I could be that pure myself, and living at home had a huge impact on me on and off the court. Don’t get me wrong, although I need to run around now, it’s all worth it, and I won’t complain at all, it’s the best decision I have ever made.

"I got along very well at home with my mom, dad and brother, and of course my dog Stormz! It is so cute, I can play with it again, and after training, I am with my family and the dog is by your side, this is the happiest feeling. It means a lot to me, and the impact of settling down at home again has been reflected in my performance on the field.

"Football is everything to me because I know how much it helps my family. In that sense, I know everything I attribute to football. If it weren't for football, God knows what I would do, where my family would be, which is why I'm so happy to have this opportunity and I know how lucky I am."
