May 18th According to ESPN, Brazilian Football Association president candidate Samir Shawd demanded that the election be postponed to May 26th, citing that the election originally scheduled on May 25 may conflict with the schedules of Brazil A and Brazil B. The request has been submitted to the interim president of the Brazilian Football Association Fernando Sarne.

However, this may affect Ancelotti's media meeting with the Brazilian national team, which was originally scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro on May 26, where Ancelotti plans to announce the latest roster of Brazil in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Meanwhile, former chairman of the Brazilian Football Association, Ednaldo Rodriguez, has filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Federal Court in an attempt to cancel the election and demand the resumption of his position.

In addition, Rodriguez also asked the court to determine that Fernando Sarne's appointment is illegal and invalid, because according to the Brazilian Football Association's constitution, Helio Meneses, the oldest director of the board, should be the interim chairman of the Brazilian Football Association.

At present, two candidates have announced their candidacy for the chairman of the Brazilian Football Association, namely Reinaldo from the São Paulo State Football Association and Samir Shaud from the Roraima State Football Association. More candidates are expected to join the campaign.
