Romano reveals that Liverpool s signings are not finished this summer

12:09pm, 23 July 2025【Football】

If Liverpool fans' desire for new players has not been satisfied with Ekitic's imminent arrival, then Romano has brought them good news.

In sharp contrast to the recent transfer windows, Liverpool has made great strides in the transfer market this summer and has introduced Mamaldashvili (the transaction is completed in 2024), Flynnon, Page, Wilz and Kelketz, with a total expenditure of more than £170 million.

Once the French striker's £79 million deal is officially finalized, the total expenditure will exceed the £250 million mark. It is reported that the 23-year-old has flew to England to undergo a medical examination from Liverpool. The transfer window will remain open until the end of August, giving Liverpool plenty of time to make more signings before the deadline, which is exactly what Romano is expected to happen.

Romano: Liverpool will have more signings this summer

Romano shared a picture of Kelkez, Wilz, Ekitic and Flynnon being all on the Liverpool jerseys on Tuesday morning, and began with a loud statement in the caption: 'Liverpool's signings are not over yet! ’

Romano said that once the Ekitic deal is finally completed, more signings are expected to be "soon". He then invited fans to score between 1 and 10 points for the Reds' transfer operation this summer.

Where may Liverpool strengthen next?

Once Ekitic's transfer is settled, there will be few loopholes in the Liverpool lineup (especially the starting eleven). Of course, the possible player sales in the coming weeks may change that.

At present, the most obvious problem seems to be insufficient depth of the center back. Greg Evans of The Athletic pointed out that coach Slott "ideally hopes" to bring in another player at this position because he wants two senior players to compete in each position of the team.

For this reason, Ornstein reported that Liverpool was "very interested" in Crystal Palace defender Mark Guy. Compared to losing him for free after the contract expires next year, Crystal Palace is more willing to sell Guy to cash out this summer.

At present, this seems to be the only position Liverpool must prioritize for the rest of this summer. But as we mentioned, future player sales may still change the focus of sports director Richard Hughes.

No matter what happens between now and the end of August, for this Premier League champion team, this is already a transfer window with heavy signings. And Romano's Instagram updates show that this transfer drama has just begun!
