Excluding the "parachute fees" allocated to relegated teams, training fees for low-level teams and grassroots football, the total broadcast fees that the 20 Serie A teams can allocate in the 2024-25 season is 898 million euros, which is lower than the 1.072 billion euros in the 2023-24 season. This is because the broadcast fee for the new broadcast contract signed by Serie A has dropped since last season.

For example, during the 2021-24 season, Dazn and Sky paid a broadcast fee of 927.5 million per season for the Serie A, while during the new contract for the 2024-29 season, there were only 900 million euros per season. There are also Serie A's foreign broadcast fees, which have also been reduced from 250 million yuan per season to 240 million euros today.

And the broadcast fee allocation mechanism of 20 Serie A teams is the same as in the past:

50% are distributed evenly to 20 teams;

28% are allocated according to the results: 14% are allocated according to the ranking of points and points last season, 9.33% are allocated according to the results of the last five seasons, 4.67% are allocated according to the historical results since the 1946-47 season;

22% are allocated according to the number of fans: 12.54% are allocated according to the number of certified paid live viewing fans, 8.36% are allocated according to the average number of viewers on live broadcasts, and 1.1% are allocated according to the length of time young fans watch the game.

"Milan Sports Daily" pointed out that Inter Milan received a broadcast fee of 81.9 million euros last season, ranking first in Serie A. Although Naples won the championship, their broadcast fee income was only 67.8 million euros, because Naples' historical performance and number of fans were not as good as Inter Milan. Juventus, Milan and Rome followed closely behind.

And the Serie A team with the lowest broadcast fee revenue last season was Venice (25.5 million euros). "Milan Sports Daily" said that the ratio between the top and the bottom of the Serie A broadcast fee reached 3.2 to 1, which is an improvement from 4.4 to 1 in the 2023-24 season. However, compared with the Premier League (1.6 to 1), the Bundesliga (2.4 to 1), the gap between the strong and weak teams in Serie A is still too big.
