Yunnan-Hong Kong Triathlon Exchange Training Camp is launched to jointly build a plateau training base to promote exchanges and cooperation

Beijing News On August 5, the Yunnan-Hong Kong Triathlon Exchange Training Camp, jointly sponsored by the Hong Kong Triathlon Association of China and the Education and Sports Bureau of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, opened at the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center. The event attracted more than 60 young triathlon athletes from Yunnan and Hong Kong to participate in the two-week plateau training, technical exchanges and cultural interactions. At the opening ceremony, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly build a plateau training base for Hong Kong triathlon in Yunnan, and through continuous event cooperation and youth exchanges, they jointly create a new situation of sports cooperation in Yunnan and Hong Kong.

At the opening ceremony of the "Dianhong Triathlon Exchange Training Camp", the Hong Kong Triathlon Federation of China signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Education and Sports Bureau of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province.

In recent years, Yunnan has been committed to building a strong sports province with plateau characteristics. As a national pilot city to promote sports consumption and event economy, Yuxi City has fully utilized its environmental and supporting resources advantages and provided broad space for sports cooperation between Yunnan and Hong Kong. Against this background, the Yunnan-Hong Kong Railway Triathlon Exchange Training Camp came into being and became a model of innovative exploration. The project is supported and funded by the United Front Work Department of the Yuxi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Leisure and Cultural Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. During the exchange camp, athletes from both places will hold multiple joint training and friendship activities at the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center to learn from each other and experience the charm of sports culture in different regions.

According to the memorandum, the Hong Kong Third Railway Association will cooperate with Yuxi Municipal Education and Sports Bureau, Huati Group and other units, and rely on the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center to jointly build a plateau training base for the Hong Kong Third Railway Sports, and plan to organize athletes to go to Yuxi for plateau training and youth exchanges every year. At the same time, Yuxi City agreed to authorize the Hong Kong Triathlon Association to become a special partner for related events in the mainland. The two sides will jointly promote the holding of new triathlon IP events, invite opponents to participate in the events locally, and build the event into a platform for athletes, coaches, technical officials and event organizers from the two places to communicate and learn from each other.

, Zhao Xiuchun, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech, pointing out that triathlon is a sports event that reflects the spirit of hard work and teamwork, and is highly consistent with the inclusiveness and mutual trust pursued by sports cooperation. Yunnan Province has superior natural environment and plateau training resources. As a well-known sub-plateau training base in China, Yuxi Plateau Sports Center has long provided ideal training conditions for athletes in the mainland and Hong Kong, and has become an important bridge for establishing sports contacts in Yunnan and Hong Kong. Zhao Xiuchun emphasized that the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee highly recognizes and actively supports the cooperation between Yunnan and Hong Kong sports, and welcomes the Hong Kong Third Railway Corporation and Hong Kong sports colleagues to come to Yunnan for training and exchanges. This event is a new starting point for deepening sports exchanges between Yunnan and Hong Kong. In the future, Yunnan and Hong Kong will take this opportunity to further integrate resources and help the prosperity and development of sports undertakings in the two places.

Zhou Qiaonan, president of the Hong Kong Triathlon Association of China, said in his speech that the Association has been committed to promoting triathlon for many years, and attaches particular importance to the training and international development of young athletes. She mentioned that the 15th National Games to be held in November this year will be jointly organized by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao for the first time, of which the triathlon project will be hosted by Hong Kong. This is not only an important milestone in the development of Hong Kong's sports industry, but also an important opportunity to showcase its competitive level and event organization capabilities to the whole country. To this end, Hong Kong tertiary athletes need to improve their strength through more high-level training and exchanges. This Yunnan-Mongol Triathlon Exchange Training Camp is an important practice in preparing for the National Games, allowing athletes to feel the unique advantages brought by plateau training. Yunnan's terrain and climatic conditions help improve athletes' endurance and adaptability, which is particularly important for preparing for high-level events like the National Games. At the same time, through technical discussions and cultural interactions, athletes have also narrowed the distance between Yunnan and Hong Kong while pursuing competitive breakthroughs, and deepened the friendship and cooperation between the two places.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Yuepeng, Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Third Railway Corporation and member of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, shared his views and emphasized the importance of Hong Kong, China as an international sports exchange hub. He pointed out: "Relying on the platform advantages of China's Hong Kong Unicom's world, we look forward to building the Yuxi Plateau Training Base into an international Iron and Third Training Node, which not only provides preparation support for Hong Kong athletes, but also introduces more international training resources and event standards for Yunnan."
