Curry won another award? Paris Olympic performance nominated for ESPY Best Champion Award

6:25am, 1 July 2025【Basketball】

Stephen Curry's Honor Book has a new page.

The Warriors star was nominated for ESPY's "Best Championship Performance" on Saturday for leading the U.S. men's basketball team to defeat France in the 2024 Summer Olympics classic. This is not surprising – the eight-time ESPY winner, formerly host of the awards party, will once again strike the awards.

Curry led the United States to a key game in a five-game championship, he scored 24 points with just eight three-pointers and ended the French team's dream with the iconic "Golden Dagger", causing the organizer to fall into complete chaos - McDonald's, France even joked that after the sharpshooter let the whole country "sleep", should he remove the "Curry Sauce" (Note: McDonald's once launched a dip sauce named after Curry).

The four-time NBA champion will face strong competition in the ESPY "Best Championship Performance" award. Nominees of the same class include Simone Byers, Rory McIlroy and Freddy Freeman:

-Byers was nominated for his personal dominant performance in women's gymnastics in 2024 Olympics;

-McIlroy won the championship and completed a professional Grand Slam shortlist (golf);

-Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freeman was nominated for leading the team to defeat the New York Yankees and won the World Series MVP. No matter who wins the awards on July 16, it is beyond reproach, but Curry's performance is particularly difficult to ignore. In the US team, which has top NBA stars such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant, everyone relied on Curry at critical moments - especially when they faced Serbia led by Nikola Jokic and France led by Victor Vinbanyama, Curry scored 60 points, accounting for 31% of the US team's 193 points.

Just like Curry left a "good night" declaration, he used his strength to let the whole world witness the definition of "champion performance".
