Dream-chasing Nets! Zeng Fan signed Exhibit 10 contracts, and the final two-way spot in the ultimate war

The Brooklyn Nets added another Chinese star before the training camp began. Former G League Ignition forward Zeng Fanbo signed an Exhibit 10 contract to fight for a two-way contract spot.

Zeng Fanbo is the second Chinese player to join the Nets in the past two years, owned by Taiwanese business tycoon Tsai Chongxin. Last year's offseason, Brooklyn signed a two-way contract with Choi Yongxi. After Choi Yongxi played for the team five times, she suffered a season-reimbursed ACL during the Long Island Nets game in the G League, and was cut shortly afterwards.

Zeng Fanbo is a 6-foot-11-inch (about 2.11 meters) striker. He played high school basketball briefly in Florida and then returned to China during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was once named a four-star high school student and signed with the G League Ignition team in the 2021-22 season.

Zeng Fanbo played 22 games for the Ignition team, averaging 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, shooting percentage of 38.5% and three-point shooting percentage of 31.0%. After the season, he signed with the Beijing Shougang team of the CBA. The 22-year-old averaged 14.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 blocks in 42 games last season, with shooting/three-pointers/free throws shooting percentages of 57%/41%/80% respectively.

Before the 2025-26 season begins, the Nets still have a two-way contract vacancies. Tyson Etienne and E.J. Liddle are two players with two-way contracts for the Nets who are about to enter training camp.

Zeng Fanbo will face fierce competition if he wants to win the Nets' last two-way contract quota. Jaren Wilson, Tyreth Martin and Drew Tim are currently holding non-guaranteed standard contracts after playing for the team last season. The Nets have 15 players with affordable standard contracts, the highest number of NBA teams allowed to carry during the regular season.

If Wilson, Martin and Tim are laid off, each of them is eligible to sign a two-way contract. The Nets cut off non-guaranteed contract guard Keon Johnson last week, who is no longer eligible to sign a two-way contract.
