After the Timberwolves lost to the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, Mike Conley shared a 4-word text message from his wife, which was deeply touching.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley shared a touching text message from his wife after the team's Western Conference Finals season reimbursement. After the Timberwolves lost 94-124 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Conley shared a 4-word text message from his wife to him: "I'm sorry."

"She said 4 words: 'I'm sorry.' I know she doesn't know what to say," Conley told Andscape's Mark J Spears. "She knows how much time I put in for it, how much sacrifice I made for them, and how I treated myself after all this. I'll call her afterwards, but it still hurts." The Timberwolves lost in the Western Conference Finals again, and Mike Conley suffered a huge grief. The Timberwolves were eliminated in the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year. Conley, 37, played 22 minutes in the decisive fifth game, contributing 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block. It was a tough night for the veteran, who recalled the moment as he left Paycom Center Stadium.

"When I left the court, I thought to myself, 'Nothing like this will happen again.' That was a nightmare, man," Conley said. "Listen to the music and the cheers of the fans, you really hope that this is not your last chance. You will think about all the experiences carefully. You don't want to forget it, nor do you want it to be your last memory."

Conley just finished his 17th NBA season and his second full season with the Timberwolves. The former All-Star has made it to the Western Conference Finals three times, before the time was with the Memphis Grizzlies against the San Antonio Spurs in 2013.

In the regular season of the 2024-25 season, Conley played 71 games, averaging 8.2 points, 4.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. He averaged 24.7 minutes per game, shooting 40% from the field and 41% from three-point shooting. In the 2025 playoffs, his performance declined, averaging 6.0 points, 3.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 15 games, shooting 30.2% from the field and 33.3% from three-point shooting percentage.

The Timberwolves entered the playoffs with a desire to win the championship, but were eventually defeated by the young and unstoppable Thunder, led by new MVP Shay Gilgers-Alexander. Conley's future is full of uncertainty, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are facing a critical offseason, hoping to continue their efforts on the basis of reaching the Western Conference Finals for two consecutive years.
