Will the Clippers disintegrate? Bill s reimbursement is just the trigger!
10:36am, 15 November 2025【Basketball】
Looking at the trade reinforcements during the offseason, most originally thought that the Clippers had a chance to supplement their rotation. Even if they couldn't soar to the sky, they should at least be able to have a relatively stable regular season record.

But surprisingly, since the start of the season, they have only had 3 wins and 8 losses, and Leonard and Bill have suffered injuries one after another, which has once again made the team worse.
Although it seems that the recent injuries have put the Clippers on the hot topic, in addition to the injuries, the team's illogical rotations, the defense that has been stabbed by thousands of people, and the seemingly runaway but helpless main stars have already slowly dragged this team into the abyss.
Frankly speaking, the Clippers' dismal record has little to do with Bill. The season average is only 8.2 points per game, and with a 37.5% field goal percentage, the offensive and defensive performance is worthless. His personal playing time is also strictly limited. He has only played in 6 games and averaged only 20.2 minutes per game. Even in terms of net efficiency on the field, Bill is even much better than Leonard, Dunn and others. Even if we want to discuss the team's war crimes, it is difficult for Bill's turn.

From a game perspective, although inefficient, Bill's offensive influence is still online. Just relying on off-the-ball movement is enough to attract the opponent's defense. He can even be regarded as a very rare off-the-ball shooter for the Clippers in recent years.
If there are no unexpected injuries, once Bill can regain his offensive status and gradually becomes familiar with the tactical system, his offensive value will be completely higher than other shooters in the team, and he will even regain a game influence close to the star level; but it is difficult to place the same level of expectations on other roles.
From this perspective, although Bill's reimbursement for the season will have little impact on the Clippers' current combat strength, looking at the entire season, it is no exaggeration to say that without Bill, it is likely to directly lower the Clippers' upper limit.
Judging from the predictions at the beginning of the season, the Clippers should have a chance to reach the second round. But looking at it now, let alone the playoffs, the Clippers may need to work hard to reach the play-offs. After all, the team's performance at this stage is really bad.

Compared to the injury accident, what is even worse is the completely out-of-control rotation; originally, the Clippers were expected to have two starting sets, but Paul's offense and defense were aging, and he was DNP soon after the start; Los Angeles has outside firepower, but the defensive end was frequently pulled to the outside for call-outs, but lost the value of protecting the frame and became a shortcoming; as for Collins, he did show the vitality he should have, but he has never found a stable role in the team.
Before there were no serious injuries, the Clippers had already deployed Cam Christie, Jordan Miller, Kobe Brown, Kobe Sanders and others in the third team in the previous games, which was enough to see the problem with the rotation.
The chaotic rotation arrangement and a large number of new rotation candidates also caused the Clippers' top defensive system to completely collapse last season. The team's defensive efficiency ranks fifth in the league this season. Even though Dunn, Jones Jr. and others can still make positive defensive contributions, it is not surprising that when other members on the field have difficulty maintaining defense, the team's defensive transitions fall into chaos.

But before criticizing the team's poor defensive system, one thing must be said in advance. The Clippers did not have many injuries during this offseason. Except for Bill, the other new players successfully participated in the warm-up matches and pre-season training. However, judging from the start of the season, the team's running-in level is indeed so bad, and this must be blamed on head coach Tyronn Lue.
If the Clippers continue to lose in a row, and if they want to find someone to take the blame for the team's dismal record, they may have to clean him up and leave. But the question is, even if Tyronn Lue is fired, will the Clippers get better?
The answer to this question ultimately comes back to the two leading stars, Harden and Leonard.
Since George left the team, the Clippers have become a team that relies heavily on Harden, and there is not even a second player who can support him with the ball. However, the 36-year-old Harden has inevitably entered the end of his career.

In addition to Harden, Leonard was once again placed on the injured list in advance. What is different from previous years is that in previous years Leonard was able to maintain his performance as a star player when healthy, but this season he seems to have begun to drift away from the team system on the court, and it seems difficult to bring much substantial improvement to the team on both offense and defense.
If the above assumptions are followed, even if the coaching problem is solved, can the Clippers get rid of the embarrassing situation in previous years where Harden was lost in the playoffs and Leonard wore a suit?
Looking at the current lineup resources and the situation in the Western Conference, I am personally quite optimistic about the Clippers. At least it shouldn't be too difficult to reach the play-offs.
Just from the perspective of management, should they prepare Plan B in advance? What's the point of maintaining the original lineup even if it makes the playoffs? Or, can they get something different out of this transitional season? Or even give fans some future goals worth looking forward to?

These are questions that currently have no answers and are difficult to answer.
