Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is about to lose a key member of his coaching team. According to multiple reports, his chief assistant coach Carlos Questa is close to leaving Arsenal to accept the coaching challenge of Serie A promoted Parma Club.

Questa, 29, has joined the coaching staff since Arteta's first summer window in coaching Arsenal in August 2020. So far, he has assisted the Spanish coach for four seasons and has played 261 games together. He is one of the important behind Arsenal's runner-up in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons and is regarded as one of Arteta's most trusted assistants.

It is reported that Questa is eager to meet new challenges and has the opportunity to take charge of Parma. Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer reporter, revealed that Parma and Arsenal have entered the final stage of termination of Questa's contract. If the transaction is completed successfully, Questa, who will turn 30 next month, will become Parma's new head coach.

This appointment will make Questa history. He will become the youngest head coach in the Serie A in nearly a century. The previous record was held by former Triestina coach Elio Losky, who took over the team that was then in the Serie C League in May 1939 (at the time of 29 years and 9 months). Since 1990, Serie A has never appointed a coach under the age of 35. At the same time, Questa will also become the youngest head coach among all the clubs in the five major European leagues.

Questa's coaching career started quite early. Before joining Arsenal, he served as an assistant coach for the Juventus U17 youth team, and earlier held similar positions at Atletico Madrid. When he first joined Atletico Madrid's coaching staff, he was under 20 years old. At the age of 23, he went to work in Turin, Italy.

According to media reports such as the Guardian, during his time at Arsenal, Questa and Arteta were close to each other and were one of his "closeest consultants", mainly responsible for improving the individual players' tactical understanding. Previously, Norwich and other English Championship teams have expressed interest in him.
