On September 3 local time, during the 2025 Motherland Week Championship held in Augusto Correa, Brazil, goalkeeper Antonio Ederson Dos Santos Sosa (nicknamed "Pique") died at the age of 31 after saving a key penalty in a five-a-side football match.

It is reported that after Pike blocked a crucial penalty with his chest, he stood up and walked a few steps, as if he was about to celebrate with his teammates, but suddenly fell in front of his teammates. This scene shocked the players, referees and audiences. The medical staff immediately stepped forward to treat him and sent him to a nearby hospital. However, a few hours later, Pique was pronounced dead.
It is reported that Pique was initially judged to die from a cerebrovascular accident, but the official has not yet given a conclusion.
