June 28 The Post reported that a number of celebrities in England hope to posthumously award the late World Cup champion Bobby Moore the title of jazz.
Sir Jeff Hurst, the 1966 World Cup champion in England, said Moore deserves the honor for his great contribution to football and philanthropy.
Moore made his first appearance for the England national team in 1962, and made 108 appearances in his 11-year international career, leading England to win the 1966 World Cup. He is considered one of the greatest defenders in football history and has performed well both on and off the court. Moore's wife Stephanie founded the Bobby Moore Foundation after his death and has raised more than £30 million in cancer research in the UK so far.
Other football celebrities supporting the sport include former Manchester United captain Brian Robson, former Chelsea midfielder Lampard and former West Ham United coach Harry Redknapp. They agreed that Moore was England's greatest captain and his contribution deserves to be remembered forever.
Although the title of jazz cannot be posthumously awarded under the current regulations, there are calls for the creation of a unique honor or equivalent award to honor Moore.
