Hupu News on November 15 Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona forward who is training with the Polish national team, admitted that at the age of 37, his career has entered the final chapter, but he hopes to "make the most of it, not only on a sports level, but also on an emotional level," he said in an interview with TVPSport.

The Barcelona number 9 is in the final season of his current contract with Barcelona and he revealed that his choice will not be delayed for too long. "I'll be ready soon to decide which path I want to take and see what my options are "

In reflection, he said that he was thinking calmly. "I'm at peace, I don't know where I'll be in a few months or what I want to do. I don't have to do anything and I'm not in a hurry." After living in Germany for more than a decade playing for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Lewandowski admitted that "moving to Barcelona and living in a different culture also changed me, and the birth of my daughters started to break those fixed patterns that had been formed over the years."

Having the opportunity to play at Barcelona with a young and talented youth player like Yamal is an incentive for a veteran like Lewandowski. "It's inspiring to know that Barcelona has a lot of young guys who have just turned 18. They give me energy and I feel good being with them. I remember my teenage years and what I did when I was their age. I'm older than some of the teammates' fathers. They treat me like a father. It's fun, but very positive ".

In this regard, he pointed out that he "must find new emotional motivation within himself." Last season, he successfully scored 42 goals for Barcelona and helped the team win the league, Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey. "The Golden Boot is an individual competition, and I'm in a team sport. The team sometimes helps us win goals or titles. Last season was very successful for me. I scored a lot of goals and won several trophies, which confirmed that my level of play is very high," he stressed.

"After so many years of playing at the highest level, with pressure and expectations, there were moments when I needed external stimulation. I had to reconnect with new emotional dynamics. Over time, I gained a new perspective on a lot of things. My career is coming to an end, but as long as I am playing football, I want to make the most of it, not only in a sporting sense, but also in an emotional sense. I want to enjoy the moment and get the most out of it ".

"Many years into a career, there's no time to even enjoy it. My motivation and focus would decline, and that's when it would be harder for me to achieve new successes. I initially started out with that mindset, but as I matured, I looked at it differently. I'm happy knowing it will end and I can't go back to it."

Lewandowski was nominated to participate in the "Przegląd Sportowy" selection of the best Polish athlete in 2025. He has won this award three times. The winner will be announced on January 10, 2026 at the Polish Sports Champions Gala. Among the 25 nominees are tennis player Iga Swiatek and volleyball player Wilfredo Leon. "This is a group of outstanding athletes, and I am very proud to be nominated again." The Polish sports award's record winning record is held by cross-country skier Justina Kowalczyk, who won the award five times in a row between 2009 and 2013.
