Mbemo returns to Brentford for training, transfer to Manchester United is temporarily shelved

According to multiple reports, Brentford striker Brian Mbemo has returned to the team this week for pre-season training, but at the same time, his desire to transfer to Manchester United is facing setbacks due to delays in negotiations, and the player himself has shown growing frustration.

Cameroon international Mbemo has clearly expressed his willingness to join Manchester United early this summer. However, although the new season preparations have started on July 15, no agreement has been reached between the two clubs. The remarks of Ashu Seprian Besson, assistant coach of Cameroon's national team, also confirmed Mbemo's frustration mentality.

It is reported that Mbemo originally hoped to finalize his future destination before Brentford's pre-season training began to avoid an embarrassing situation with the "Bees Legion". But news from The Athletic pointed out that negotiations have made little progress in the past few weeks.

Manchester United has made two offers to introduce Mbemo, with the latest offer total value of £62.5 million, but both were rejected by Brentford. As of now, Manchester United has not yet made a third official offer. The two sides' valuation of players is considered to be "significant" gap. Although Brentford has not yet fully unified the specific asking price, it is generally expected that its psychological price will be above £70 million.

Manchester United management has stated that they will maintain a patient strategy in the pursuit of Mbemo. The club stressed that it would not repeat the mistake of paying too high premiums in player transfers in the past, and also needed to take into account the feelings of employees who have been laid off due to cost-cutting measures in the near future.

At present, negotiations between the two clubs are still in progress. Both sides will closely monitor Mbemo's attitude and performance after returning to training. Brentford obviously has no intention of retaining any players who may affect the atmosphere in the locker room.

It is worth noting that Brentford director Phil Giles has made it clear that if Manchester United cannot meet its asking price, the club will be happy to keep Mbemo. He even said that if the Cameroonian striker stays in the team to compete in the new season, there will be no problems.
