Official: Hainer re-elected as Bayern chairman for three years

Hupu November 02 News Herbert Hainer will continue to serve as chairman of Bayern Munich Club for three years. The 71-year-old executive was overwhelmingly elected at the club's annual shareholder meeting on Sunday to start his third term.

Among the 1,990 qualified voters (a total of 432,500 members), 1,861 still supported Haina, 85 voted against, and 44 abstained. This is equivalent to Hainer receiving an approval rating of 93.5% from those present.

"This job is a great honor for me," said the successor to current honorary president Uli Hoeness. Hainer's election this time achieved the second-best result of his career. In 2019, he was elected with an impressive 98.1% of the vote. In his first re-election campaign in 2022, he received 83.3% of member support.

"We know where we came from, we know who we are, and most importantly, we know where we are going," Heiner said excitedly in his opening speech. Even with a 125-year club history, Bayern Munich is not "comfortable with the status quo, but always maintains its desire to win. Bayern's achievements today are its benchmark for tomorrow."

Heiner also praised head coach Vincent Kompany as "the soul of the team" and said that under the leadership of the Belgian, "great things" are happening.
