Sunderland official: 30-year-old central defender Onion renews his contract for two years, joining the team from the League One to the Premier League

The defender is the longest player in the club and the most played players in Sunderland. He has currently renewed his contract with the team until 2027 and has the option to renew his contract for one year.

Last season, Onion made 48 appearances, helping Black Cats return to the Premier League after eight years away from the Premier League, consolidating his position in Sunderland's history.

's victory in the Champions League play-off final marks the 30-year-old's unforgettable seven-year career at Willside, and he has always been with the club as he advances from the Premier League from the League One. After signing, Onion said:

Oneon has been a shining star of the team during his club's League One game, and he quickly adapted to the Championship, making 130 appearances in three seasons.
